What are Business Innovation Projects (BIP)?Partnering with some of Sweden’s most interesting industrial firms, Chalmers Business Innovation has established an academic platform to help solving complex client issues by providing a breadth of business, strategy and innovation linked solutions. Our commitment is to provide CBI business clients with tangible study results that help them in their generation of new business innovations, development of potential business plans as well as innovation commercialization and execution. The upcoming Business Innovation Project 2011The client for the 2011 BIP is a medium-sized, Swedish, fast growing, technology-based firm. They have an established product that has been successful in the marine business and are now looking to apply their technology to achieve growth in a different customer industry. The main task of the Business Innovation Project will be to identify and evaluate the most promising solvable customer problems in the new industry, in particular to: identify, validate and quantify the initial target segment. ApplicationThe BIP recruitment process consists of one or two interviews with key CBI staff and sometimes previous BIP students. The interview outcome determines applicant credentials for the final in-depth interview round. Final interviews will evaluate personal, technical and business skills. A BIP is particularly suited to MEI-students, but we are open to any students who can demonstrate that they are knowledgeable enough in relevant areas of innovation. In particular areas corresponding to the Chalmers "Creating New Business"-course by Sören Sjölander.
